I am an American globetrotter blessed enough to have just completed a master’s degree in Spain, then immediately land some (short-term) consulting work which I can do remotely.
My first thought: Stay in Spain and travel on the weekends!
My second thought: Why stay in Spain when I can work from anywhere?
So here I am. I packed 3 months worth of life into a single suitcase, and left everything else in the care of one of my lovely friends back in Spain. This morning I took a one-way flight to Paris, where I have an airbnb for the next 2 weeks. After that, who knows?!? The only plan is to go somewhere interesting, meet new people, try new things, and stay for as long as I need to in order to do all of it while still working. This blog will chronicle my journey, in which I am drifting through the world, but far from aimless.
There’s no denying that it will be hard: I am an introvert and a control freak. Despite those obstacles, I appreciate new places and experiences, and care for people deeply. Hopefully throwing myself in headfirst is enough; but maybe (just maybe) my alter-ego Marilyn will come out to help me be more spontaneous, open, and adventurous.
Wish me luck!
